Winegrowing has existed for generations in the Dumbsky family and can be retraced until the year 1837.

The density of the agricultural and winegrowing estate in the historic section of Volkach forced Robert Dumbsky to map and build the Marienhof-estate from 1960 to 1962 and to relocate. Thus he put the headstone for the present winery at the outskirts of Volkach.

Here, at the heart of the Mainschleife and below the vineyards, his son Hermann Dumbsky and his family now cultivate and sell the wine.

The wine is produced traditionally dry.

In 1995, during a reconstruction including a renovation a guest house was added.
